Cut binding into fabric into:
- 9 – 2 & 1/2″ x WOF strips (fabric H)
Directions:
Step 1
First, start making the custard block, and for that, you’re going to make a nine-patch. Lay five fabrics C and four fabrics B, then use a 1/4″ seam to stitch them together. Next, cut the nine-patch into quarters to have four custard units. To finish your custard block, lay out four custard units, two fabric G rectangles, press, add one fabric F rectangle in the middle, and press.

Step 2
To make your cake block, Lay out one fabric A, two fabrics D at the top and bottom, and two fabrics E on both sides. Stitch together and press. Now, alternate your cake and your custard blocks, with no sashing and borders, to create your quilt.
