I just saw my first tire rocking horse yesterday at a restaurant where my family and I were eating and I was so blown away, I couldn’t wait to get home and start researching Youtube to find a tire rocking horse tutorial for my Grandson’s playroom I was building inside our new screened-in porch at our ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas. Low and behold, one of my very first search results yielded the most magnificent rocking horses I had ever laid eyes on, The DIY Swan Tire Planter! All I can say is, Wow, what a great idea! I couldn’t wait to get started so I quickly assembled my materials to begin this awesome project!
Materials:
- White Marker
- Angle Grinder
- Car Tire
- Metal Cutting Discs (a circular saw)
- Strip Of Sheet Metal
- Sheet Metal Screws (16mm)
- Sheet Metal Shears (or something that will cut metal)
- Screw Gun
Directions:
Cut tire in half and place on a board.

Trace tire shape onto the board then cut it out with a saw then add a 2 x 4 board and drill a hole for a small pipe to fit through to be used as a handle. Screw the whole board apparatus into your sliced tire half.
