How to Make a Colored Paper Pen Holder

Step 1: Rolling the First Tube

Place a thin skewer at the bottom corner of the colored paper, then roll the paper diagonally around the skewer, keeping it tight. When you’re near the end, apply glue to the flap and press it down to seal the tube securely.

Step 2: Trimming and Making Another Color

Cut off the sharp tip of the paper tube to even it out. Then, repeat the same process to make several more tubes. You can use different colored papers to make your pen holder bright and colorful.

Step 3: Building the Base

Cut a piece of cardboard into a 4-inch square to use as the base. Apply hot glue to the top and bottom corners of one side, then attach your first paper tube. Do the same on the opposite side, making sure both tubes are the same color. Next, add another pair of tubes on the upper and lower edges, gluing them on top of the first layer. Continue building layers in this way, alternating colors as you go.

Step 4: Finishing the Pen Holder

Once the pen holder is assembled, trim any excess paper tube edges with sharp scissors to achieve your desired length. Place your pens, pencils, and scissors inside—and your DIY colored paper pen holder is ready to use!
